David – Latin / ACT/SAT Prep

David’s undergraduate major, Classics, was settled as soon as he set foot on WashU’s campus: his love of languages had been a large part of his life as early as kindergarten, since which time he’s studied Japanese, Spanish, Latin, Hebrew, and Greek.  Rivaling his love of languages is his love of classic rock, especially the anthems of the 1970s and 1980s, a love that is expressed through one of his many hobbies: playing guitar.  His true passion, however, is teaching, and he plans to make a career of teaching at the high school level; he is currently pursuing a Master’s in Teaching from Washington University, his undergraduate alma mater.  He has gained valuable experience serving as the Pledge Educator for his fraternity, giving private lessons in Latin, student-teaching IB-Level Latin at the top-ranked public school in Missouri, and working with an ACT/SAT prep company, teaching in both classroom and private one-on-one settings.  David is also a sports fan, especially fond of the Texas Longhorns’ football team.  HOOK ‘EM!

“During David’s time as an instructor in my region, he continually impressed me with his commitment to improving as both a teacher and tutor.  He was willing to take on an any assignment, no matter how challenging it appeared, and in each situation he rose to the occasion.” – Adam B., Supervisor (Revolution Prep Houston-area Manager of Instruction)

“Thanks for the opportunity to say thank you for helping Caroline….The class that Caroline attended was necessary for to manage test anxiety and low performance.  She took each week seriously and did all her homework.…You were able to share strategies for each section and how to write her essay with proper language.  You can’t get all that out of just a study book.  I appreciate you encouraging and being patient during the tutoring sessions as the ACT was a huge mountain for her to climb.” - Cara G., happy parent.
